United Shuttle Offers Special Thanksgiving Fares: If you thought Thanksgiving turkey prices were a bargain, consider the air fare deal just announced by United Airlines’ new Shuttle: $9.97 to fly between Southern California and the Bay Area. The promotional fare, designed to increase awareness of the new service and an electronic ticketing system, is available on a limited number of seats on 300 flights, the airline said. It is only good from noon on Thanksgiving Day until noon Saturday. By Wednesday afternoon, about 3,000 of the 5,600 available seats were already taken, according to United spokesman Joe Hopkins. All the revenue goes to charity, he said.
