OUTLOOK
The Centurions are coming off their best season ever, but lost all their starters. The two biggest losses are the Harmon brothers. Thomas, a first-team all-county player who averaged 18 points, graduated and his younger brother, Ike, has transferred to Santa Ana Valley. Century has no player taller than 6-2, but will be a quick and pesky defensive team. Beltran and Arrington are small but strong guards, and both are good defensive players. Aguirre could be one of the team’s top offensive threats, but he only averaged three points last season. “He’s not flashy, but he gets the job done,” Coombs said. Diaz and Lopez are young, but both are fine shooters. Benavides, Bugarin and Ros will also contribute. “Everyone is interchangeable,” Coombs said. “We’ll be able to run, and although we won’t have Thomas scoring 18 or 20 a game, we could have different leading scorers every night. But our defense is what will keep us in games.”
