INGLEWOOD : Ice Cream Vendor Slain, Wife Shot in Robbery

An ice cream vendor was fatally shot Tuesday and his wife abducted and wounded during a robbery in Inglewood.
The gunman killed the man in the 3400 block of West Lawrence Street, then jumped into his ice cream truck and drove away as the dying man’s wife screamed for help, said Inglewood Police Sgt. James TenBrook. Less than a mile away, the robber stopped the truck, shot the woman, took her purse and ran, he said. The woman “miraculously received only a graze wound” to the head, TenBrook said.
