Pinnacle Micro’s Profit in 3rd Quarter Is $522,000

Pinnacle Micro Inc. of Irvine, a producer of optical disk drives, reported a third-quarter profit of $522,000, or 10 cents a share. That compared to pro forma earnings of $507,000, or 10 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Sales rose 52% to $16 million from $10.5 million. For the nine-month period, profit was $2.4 million, or 47 cents a share, compared to pro forma earnings of $1.2 million, or 27 cents a share, for the comparable period last year. Nine-month sales were up 64% to $46.5 million from $28.4 million.
