The Earle M. Jorgensen Co.: The Brea metal distributor reported second-quarter profit of $4.1 million, contrasted with a net loss of $1.3 million for the prior-year period. Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 29 rose 23% to $243.1 million from $197.1 million. Profit for the first half reached $7 million, in contrast with a $3.2-million net loss recorded for the like six months last year. Revenue was up to $485.5 million from $399.4 million.
