Canyon’s Valent Commits to Play Baseball at UCLA

Canyon’s Eric Valent has orally committed to play baseball at UCLA, Canyon Coach Mike Najera said Monday.

Valent, an outfielder, was a first-team All-Orange County selection last season. He hit .426 with six home runs and 36 runs batted in.

He played on the USA Junior Olympic team this summer.

Valent has been named first-team All-Century League twice. He is the only player in Canyon history to be on the varsity all four years.
