VENTURA : Car May Have Killed Woman Near Rincon
A Ventura woman whose body was found off Old Highway 1 near the Rincon late Saturday may have died after being struck by a car, authorities said Sunday.
Stephanie June Case, 42, died after receiving multiple blunt injuries, according to Ventura County Deputy Coroner Craig Stevens.
Stevens said evidence uncovered during an autopsy performed Sunday indicated that the woman may have been struck by a car. Small holes discovered on Case’s forehead, thought initially to be bullet wounds, were actually the result of a 1989 surgery, Stevens said.
Ventura Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Cook said that an investigation into the incident was continuing and, as of late Sunday afternoon, no suspects had been arrested in connection with the death.
