WASHINGTON — Vice President Al Gore Friday slammed Oliver North as a disgrace to the Marine Corps, and the Virginia Republican Senate candidate tried to fend off an unexpected attack from former First Lady Nancy Reagan.
Nancy Reagan rocked North’s Senate campaign by telling an audience in Manhattan Thursday that the former Marine, who served as an aide to her husband and was at the center of the Iran-Contra scandal, was a liar.
