President Clinton
* As a naturalized citizen of this great country, I am baffled by the citizens here who take so much for granted and seem to pay little or no attention to the details of any news story unless it involves scandal or celebrities. The shabby treatment of President Clinton by the media and his “low job-approval” rating by the masses are very sad and symptomatic of a seemingly childish and shallow-minded population.
Here is a very good man trying to bring several issues to the table concerning crime, health care and economic recovery, and because there is a struggle in his efforts to make changes that are good for the people, those same people seem to look at the surface, feel that the whole thing is messy, and dismiss this President as someone who is not doing a good job.
In previous years, people were cranky because the economy was sour and there was a general sense that President Bush did not care about domestic issues. Now it seems clear why he stayed away from domestic issues. This country doesn’t deserve a good man like Clinton. It will be very interesting to see who or what pleases them in the future.
