SIMI VALLEY : Kemp Will Speak at Reagan Library

Jack Kemp, former secretary of Housing and Urban Development, is scheduled to speak tonightat the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library near Simi Valley.
His topic will be “The Relevance of Ronald Reagan to the ‘90s,” according to library officials.
Kemp is on the board of Empower America, a Washington-based advocacy group that he helped found to generate grass-roots support for conservative causes. In 1988 he was a presidential candidate and is frequently touted as a candidate for the Republican nomination in 1996.
Before joining the Bush Administration as housing secretary, Kemp spent nine terms in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was also a professional football player for 13 years, playing for both the Buffalo Bills and the San Diego Chargers.
