CANOGA PARK — A 42-year-old father was sentenced to one year in jail Tuesday because his 5-year-old son was injured in a traffic accident while not wearing a seat belt, according to the Los Angeles city attorney’s office.
Mitchell Gluckman of Canoga Park pleaded no contest to one count each of child endangerment, hit-and-run driving and possession of a fraudulently obtained driver’s license, according to City Atty. James Hahn.
In June, Gluckman was driving with his son, who was not wearing a seat belt, on Saticoy Street near Reseda Boulevard. Gluckman’s car struck a stationary car at 35 m.p.h. and the boy’s face hit the windshield and cracked the glass, the statement read.
Gluckman showed the driver of the other car a phony driver’s license bearing the name of his young son before leaving the scene of the accident, according to the statement.
