OXNARD : Pair Sentenced in Airplane Parts Fraud

Two people who used an Oxnard aircraft company in a scheme to defraud the Federal Aviation Administration and private aircraft companies were sentenced Tuesday in U. S. District Court, authorities said.
James A. Fishback Sr., 60, of Redlands was sentenced to six months confinement in a community treatment center, fined $20,000 and placed on probation for five years.
Earlene C. Christenson, 45, of Bloomington, received six months of home detention, was fined $15,000 and given three years probation.
Fishback and Christenson had pleaded guilty earlier this year to charges of onspiring to resell worn military engine liners as new parts for civilian jets, such as the Lear jet.
They purchased the used military parts from the now-defunct Dixon Aircraft Components of Oxnard.
The pair also admitted to selling cheap, counterfeit jet engine liners from Taiwan to private aircraft companies, illegally circumventing FAA regulations, authorities said.
