Ford to Donate $10 Million to UC Riverside: The auto maker said it will give the funds to the university over the next nine years to support research and technological development aimed at reducing air pollution. The gift, the largest in campus history and the largest ever made by Ford Motor Co. in California, will help fund the university’s 2-year-old Center for Environmental Research at its College of Engineering. Among other projects, the center is testing how solar energy can be used in a process that creates hydrogen fuel for vehicles.
