Board Gives Teachers a 2% Pay Hike

WESTMINSTER — The Westminster School District Board of Education has unanimously approved a 2% raise for its teachers.
The board made its decision at its regular meeting last week.
Under the new pay schedule, a starting teacher will make $23,933 a year, up from $23,464. A teacher who has been with the district for 10 years will earn $46,191, up from $45,286, district spokeswoman Audrey Brown said. The salary terms, which are retroactive to July 1, will remain in effect until June 30, 1996.
The district’s teachers last received a raise--of 3%--in the 1992-93 year, Brown said.
