THE GOVERNOR’S RACE
* What Happened Sunday: Gov. Pete Wilson signed legislation in Sacramento. State Treasurer Kathleen Brown celebrated her 49th birthday with a surprise party thrown by staff and supporters in Long Beach. She also helped start the AIDS Walk in Hollywood and attended a rally for the African American Vote Plan.
* What’s Ahead: Brown plans to speak today at a voter registration rally at San Diego State University. Wilson will hold a public signing of two bills that penalize jurors and witnesses who sell their stories before or during a trial.
