The Small Business Administration has named Alberto G. Alvarado to be director of the agency’s Los Angeles district office, the SBA’s largest. The Los Angeles office serves 10 million people in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties and administers a total business loan portfolio of more than $1 billion. Alvarado, 42, replaces Mike Lee, who is moving to the SBA’s Santa Ana office to become a finance specialist. Alvarado previously managed the Los Angeles SBA office’s legal division. As district counsel, he handled more than $3 billion in financial assistance and government procurement to Los Angeles area small businesses.
