PREP EXTRA / SATURDAY FOOTBALL PULLOUT : Police Probe Player-Coach Altercation

The Long Beach Police Department is investigating an alleged assault Thursday night by a Los Alamitos High football player on defensive backs coach Steve Scully, a police spokesman said Friday.
Lt. Torbin Beith said a report has been filed on the incident that occurred during the Griffins’ 23-16 victory over Carson at Long Beach Veterans Stadium.
Police and Los Alamitos school officials are withholding the player’s name because he is a juvenile.
