Countywide : Science Mentor Program Is Open
- Share via
Science-By-Mail, a national pen pal mentor program for children in grades four through nine, is accepting applications through Oct. 15.
Throughout the school year, Science-By-Mail sends members three hands-on activity packets and links children with a volunteer scientist pen pal.
Members work on the experiments in the packets, communicating with their scientist pen-pal for ideas, advice and encouragement.
The topics for 1994-95 are weather, science magic and garbage.
More than 25,000 children and 2,000 scientists from around the world participate in the program, which costs $56 per membership group of one to four children. For more information, call (800) 729-3300.
