South Pasadena 25, Hoover 6--Hoover (0-2) got off to a bad start and was forced to punt from its 21-yard line late in the first quarter.
The snap went over the head of punter Mike Chae and rolled through the end zone for a safety.
Hoover’s offense never got going--quarterback Carlos Baladez completed one of 12 for 19 yards with two interceptions. The second interception was returned 20 yards by linebacker Val Orozco to wrap up the scoring.
Running back Hung Huyng rushed for 110 yards in eight carries and scored one touchdown for Hoover.
