A Westside synagogue that is undergoing renovation of its main reception area, is adding facilities, and access for the disabled.
Temple Beth Am, a 60-year-old synagogue on the Westside, will upgrade one of its sanctuary buildings with new kitchens, bathrooms, elevators and a front entrance, costing about $3 million.
In January the temple completed a $4-million, three-story school building.
Bill Strick, financial administrator for the temple, said the renovation is expected to be completed in a year. The temple is still holding its regular services and events.
