Utt School Math Star Adds a High Honor
Ralph Lee’s teacher will tell you that he’s a whiz in math and science. So it was only natural that the sixth-grader at C.E. Utt Middle School was among the recent participants of a program for talented math students from around the country.
Ralph attended the “Young Students Talent Search,” a three-week program at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where the students were trained in scientific reasoning.
The program, open to fifth- and sixth-grade students, was sponsored by the Center for the Advancement of Academically Talented Youth through Johns Hopkins University.
Ralph was selected based on test scores and the recommendation of his teacher, Zee Middleton, at Tustin Memorial School.
