An equestrian competition will be held Sunday in San Juan Capistrano to benefit the Center for Health Sciences to be built at UC Irvine.
Reservations are required for the annual Oaks Fall Classic, which includes a $50,000 Grand Prix race, to be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Oaks, 28650 Ortega Highway.
In addition, the Irvine Museum also will present an exhibition of open-air art, and 12 galleries will exhibit and sell 19th- and 20th-Century American art.
Tickets for umbrella tables under the oaks cost $150, and seats in the winner’s circle under the tent are $200 each. To make reservations, call (714) 661-2561.
Proceeds are earmarked for the Center for Health Sciences. The first building, a neurosciences unit, is expected to be completed by 1995.
