Beijing Office Rents Rise: The large number of foreign companies looking to set up shop there helped push official rents up 27% in the first half of the year, the official China Securities newspaper reported. Office space now costs an average of $580. More than 7,000 new foreign companies have registered in Beijing since last year, the paper said, and authorities have approved 1,268 new foreign-funded enterprises.
