Allen, Oak Park Romp Past St. Genevieve in Opener, 42-14

VAN NUYS — Ron Allen passed for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Oak Park High to a 42-14 nonleague victory over St. Genevieve at Birmingham High on Saturday night.
Allen, who rushed for 78 yards in the game, eluded three tacklers behind the line of scrimmage before dashing 43 yards for a score to put Oak Park ahead, 14-0, in the first quarter of the opener for both teams.
In the third period, he connected with Eric Ruhle and Kevin Pryor for touchdowns of 25 and 31 yards, the latter for a 42-6 advantage.
Running back Ryan Johnson rushed 12 times for 110 yards and touchdowns of one and 10 yards. Ruhle helped give Oak Park a 21-0 lead in the second quarter on a 24-yard run.
Oak Park rolled up 339 yards--244 rushing--in offense. St. Genevieve managed 113.
Fullback Ricky Estrada and running back Vinnie Tannous each had touchdown runs for the Valiants.
St. Genevieve quarterback Randy Iaccino passed for 99 yards before leaving the game with a shoulder injury at the end of the first half.
