Hits Magazine Tip of the Week
PolyGram executives are deciding the configuration of the forthcoming Woodstock soundtrack package. Insiders say a group representing PolyGram record manufacturing and distribution executives favors individual CD and cassette releases that would separate the live performances by musical genre, maximizing domestic and international record sales. However, a faction led by the show’s producer, PolyGram Diversified Entertainment, favors a large multi-disc boxed set that would preserve the magnitude of the event. No official release date has been set for the project.
