OUTLOOK
Laguna Beach, long dormant in the PCL race, broke a 17-game league losing streak against Estancia last year. The Artists, with more experience than usual, may finally have a chance to surpass the break-even mark in league. Still, they must compensate for the graduation of Pat Wood, who passed for more than 1,500 yards, and develop additional speed and strength. Pivaroff had five interceptions last year and has been an all-league defender the past two years; he moves to QB from wide receiver (21 catches, 15.8 average). Weenig was a second-team all-leaguer a year ago. In their 60th year, a playoff appearance would be a nice touch for the Artists.
SCHEDULE

October 1 vs. Calvary Chapel at Newport Beach HS; 7 at Coronado; 14 vs. Costa Mesa; 21 vs. University; 28 at Aliso Niguel.
November 4 vs. Laguna Hills at Mission Viejo HS; 11 vs. Estancia.
