Burbank Residents Celebrate Successes
* The voters of Burbank will continue to hold our community leaders accountable even without Sharon Woodson-Bryant’s help. We will continue to participate in maintaining the positive values of a clean, safe, family oriented community. We are doing this with residents who take pride and responsibility in our churches, our schools and our politics.
It is Woodson-Bryant who missed the point of a diverse society. I did not celebrate Black History month this year and probably won’t next year.
But I did celebrate with quiet pride a boy’s graduation from high school this year. He is going to a major university with high academic standing and an athletic scholarship. I met him 10 years earlier. I don’t know if he would have failed in another community, probably not. But I know he succeeded here in Burbank. He succeeded while getting all the bumps and bruises that life choose to give him.
