The Granada Hills Library, heavily damaged in the Northridge earthquake, will reopen Tuesday at 12:30 p.m.
The library has been closed since the January temblor.
It cost an estimated $250,000 to repair the facility, according to Nina Wilson, regional manager for the West Valley region of the Los Angeles Public Library system.
The Granada Hills branch suffered interior, exterior and water damage in the quake.
At least 2,500 books were destroyed.
Repairs include new roofing, ceiling lights, carpeting, air conditioning and interior paint.
The library was also strengthened structurally to meet current seismic requirements.
The branch is also now equipped to accommodate a computerized data system, which will be implemented in the next year or so.
The library will be open Monday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 to 8 p.m.; and Wednesday and Friday from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. It is at 10640 Petit Ave.
