Herbert Haft Will Try to Oust Son at Crown Books: The chairman of retailing conglomerate Dart Group Corp. will take the action against his youngest son, Ronald, at a Crown Books board meeting Wednesday, according to lawyers representing the younger Haft. Herbert Haft plans to propose that Ronald Marshall replace his son as president of Crown Books, which is a subsidiary of the Dart Group. While the elder Haft controls 57% of the voting rights of Dart Group, a majority of Dart’s board is made up of independent directors. Marshall currently is Dart’s chief financial officer.
