Reporting Is Termed <i> Ecologically Retrograde</i>

Regarding the article headlined “Being on Waterway Is Like Living Outdoors,” (At Home feature on the Venice Canals, Aug. 14): Your reporter’s reference to “once-worthless salt marshes” shows an orientation that is so ecologically retrograde that it is difficult to take seriously the celebration of nature that was suppose to be the very theme of the report.
