Compromising Positions (Cinemax Thursday at 2 a.m.), a blithe 1985 comedy-mystery, finds Joe Mantegna’s lecherous dentist, the Lothario of Long Island, stabbed to death with one of his own dental instruments. One of his patients (Susan Sarandon) plays detective.
