Saratoga Favorite Is Sidelined

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Fourstardave, the 9-year-old gelding who has become an institution in Saratoga racing, is finished for the year.
He severely sprained his left ankle turning for home in Friday’s running of the Bernard Baruch Handicap, in which he finished third. Fourstardave was leading coming into the stretch, but was passed with a furlong to go by Lure, the eventual winner, and Paradise Creek.
He is expected to recover and his connections are hopeful that he will be able to resume in competition next year.
