SIMI VALLEY : Reward Offered in Robbery at Antique Shop
- Share via
Fed up with thieves who carted off $25,000 in antiques, the owners of a Simi Valley store are offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robbers.
Kathy Ervin and her son Jim Ervin decided to offer the reward after thieves late last month threw a football-sized rock through their shop’s front window, dismantled the alarm system and made off with hundreds of old watches, bracelets and gold chains.
The Ervins have operated the Penny Pinchers antique/junk store on Valley Fair for 28 years, stocking it with wares from 72 vendors ranging from antimacassars to zori sandals.
“It’s just horrible that somebody would do this,” Kathy Ervin said. “You feel like you’ve been violated.”
