‘True Lies’

In his review of “True Lies” (“The Secret Life of ‘True Lies,’ ” July 14), Kenneth Turan notes the film’s “determination to use caricatured unshaven Arabs as terrorists” as one of the film’s many flaws. I would like to applaud him for mentioning this aspect of the movie, which most critics seem to have overlooked or simply ignored. As an Arab American, I have grown weary of constantly seeing Arabs portrayed as terrorists on the screen.
