Highlights of the weapons trial of Leodes Van Buren, former Newbury Park High All-American football player, on Wednesday:
* Prosecutors played audio tapes of Van Buren admitting to investigators that he fired a gunshot into his girlfriend’s house April 8. “I’m not denying it,” Van Buren reportedly said to investigators only hours after the incident.
* Van Buren also reportedly told investigators that he didn’t fear jail and said that he was under so much pressure that he thought about suicide “all the time.”
* The case is expected to go to the jury today.
