Brazilian Crawls Back to Girlfriend--Literally

SAO PAULO, Brazil — A love-struck Brazilian artist, distraught over the breakup of a four-year relationship with his girlfriend, walked nine miles on his knees in a bid to win back her love.
Shuffling along with pieces of car tire tied to his kneecaps and cheered on by motorists and passersby, 21-year-old Marcio da Silva took 14 hours to complete his marathon of love from Praia Grande to Santos on the Sao Paulo coast.
The gesture was in vain. When he arrived, exhausted, at her home, 19-year-old Katia de Nascimento had left to avoid seeing him.
