OXNARD : Spice Network Fans May Require Filters
- Share via
The cable provider for Oxnard, Port Hueneme, El Rio, and some incorporated areas of Ventura County announced Wednesday that it has found a way to improve the scrambling of the Spice Network, a controversial adult channel.
Jones Intercable and the network were harshly criticized in March by residents and religious leaders who complained that despite scrambling, the audio portion of the broadcast, as well as an occasional image, could be heard and seen in some homes.
The cable company plans to block the channel from the transmission point, requiring those residents who subscribe to the Spice Network to install small filters that allow the channel to come through.
The filters will not be available until early August. For information, call 485-7774.
