New Store: Walgreens has opened its first Southern California RxPress store at its West Lincoln Avenue location in Anaheim. A second RxPress store, also in Anaheim, will open in January.
The RxPress locations are 1,900-square-foot storefronts that feature prescription medicines and 650 of the drugstore chain’s most popular over-the-counter health items. The Anaheim store also features one-hour photo finishing and a drive-through prescription lane.
RxPress made its debut in 1989 in Chicago, where it is based. The store chain gradually added stores in the Midwest. Its first West Coast location opened last year in Seattle.
“It’s the ultimate in pharmacy convenience,” said George Riedl, director of operations at RxPress.
