United/Paramount Network Signs With New Affiliates: The proposed fifth broadcast network jointly owned by Paramount Pictures and Chris-Craft Industries said it signed up five new affiliates in Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Milwaukee and Kansas City. The new affiliates boost the network’s coverage to 52% from 47% of all U.S. households with TVs, but it is still far short of the 85% goal the network has set for its January, 1995, launch. The new affiliation agreements come only a week after Paramount and Chris-Craft restructured their joint venture to allow for TV station group Chris-Craft to take on a larger share of the network’s financial burden.
