The Los Angeles City Council posted a $25,000 reward Tuesday for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever killed a woman caught in a June 11 cross-fire in North Hills involving a drug dealer.
Renee Milagros Hurtado, 21, was outside a liquor store when two stray bullets hit her. They just missed her daughter, who was in her mother’s arms.
“Hopefully, this reward will stop a killer from killing again,” said Councilman Joel Wachs.
Police, who are looking for a neighborhood drug dealer known as “Little Man,” asked for a reward because they believe he might flee the area.
According to investigators, the assailant began firing at a man hiding behind a car that Hurtado and her sister-in-law had taken to the store. Hurtado, who was hit in the chest, died minutes later.
