Harry Carey Jr. to Appear at ‘Trail of ‘98’ Screening

Harry Carey Jr. will be on hand to autograph his “Company of Heroes: My Life in the John Ford Stock Company” when “The Trail of ‘98,” which featured his father, screens Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Silent Movie Friday, 611 N. Fairfax Ave.
The 1928 spectacle, directed by Clarence Brown and in which Harry Carey played the villain, traces with documentary-like fidelity, a grueling journey to the Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon.
In addition to Carey, those who endure blizzards, raging rivers, an avalanche and a climactic Dawson saloon fire are a stalwart Ralph Forbes and a demure Dolores Del Rio. It includes pre-earthquake stock footage of San Francisco’s original Palace Hotel.
