Pasta Group Wants Import Quotas: The National Pasta Assn. said in Washington that it will demand quotas or tariffs on imported pasta if President Clinton decides to curb Canadian imports of durum wheat, which is used to make pasta. The trade group will also formally ask the Administration to halt subsidies for durum wheat exports while wheat import restraints are in effect. The big winners will be foreign pasta producers, who will increase their already significant exports to the United States, she said.
