The mystery involving Bulgarian translators continues. At the Rose Bowl on Friday, Coach Dimitar Penev was asked to update the media on an injury to midfielder Daniel Borimirov.
Through translator Svetla Gosteva-Ivanova of the Bulgarian Football Union, it was understood that Borimirov was injured at Thursday’s practice and would sit out today’s third-place game against Sweden.
The rest of her answer had the scientific community jumping.
The nature of the injury?
“The finger on his right leg,” Gosteva-Ivanova relayed in English.
