College Schedules Free Concert Sunday

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Golden West College is sponsoring a free band concert at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the college’s outdoor amphitheater, near Gothard Street and Center Avenue.
The music will be provided by the 60-member Golden West College Symphonic Band.
Conducted by Tom Hernandez, “the internationally renown band will perform Broadway hits, movie themes, patriotic marches and selections from Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ ” said Lori Thomas, a spokeswoman for the college.
The public is “encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic dinner,” she said. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
Free parking is available at the college’s Gothard Street parking lot.
