Taiwan

I was so glad to read your editorial “Giving Taiwanese an Even Break” (July 10). Finally, someone is bringing justice to an island of hard-working people!
Yes, when Taiwan was abandoned by its biggest ally, Uncle Sam, in 1979, people there were scared. However, the Taiwanese stood on their own feet, worked hard, and eventually became a major economic force. As a Chinese American born in Taiwan, I am extremely proud of Taiwan’s accomplishments. However, they have been a voiceless group. Politically and culturally, they have been isolated from the rest of the world.
Give Taiwan something back. Help Taiwan reach the next level of excellence!
