MIAMI — A 16-year-old boy was charged Thursday with murder and armed robbery in the attack on a motorist who was beaten, robbed and shot to death by a mob when he got out of his car to check on a girl he had just hit.
Metro-Dade police Detective Marie Duboulay said authorities have not determined whether the 16-year-old was the gunman. “There are other people involved,” she said. “We don’t know how many more are involved.”
Charles Bells, 44, went to check on Victoria Williams after the 11-year-old darted in front of his car Tuesday. She was not seriously hurt. Witnesses said a mob surrounded Bells, who was beaten with fists and a bottle and then shot.
