Police have seized nearly 400 pounds of cocaine and arrested six men for investigation of conspiracy to distribute the drug.
The cocaine, with an estimated street value of $8.5 million, was seized Wednesday as Pomona police officers conducted surveillance on men believed to be drug traffickers, Sgt. Gary Graham said in a news release.
The men were followed to neighboring Diamond Bar, where they switched automobiles, convincing officers that the men were conducting a drug deal. About 110 pounds of cocaine were found in one of the cars.
Police later obtained a search warrant for a Diamond Bar residence, where 128 more pounds of cocaine were found.
Those arrested were identified as Roberto Jaramico Nie, 28; Rico Santiago, 37; Reynoldo Iriarte Sanchez, 24, and Romon Rangel Rodriguez, 24, all of Sinaloa, Mexico; Jose Bravo Mendez, 24, of Tijuana, and Tiburci Iriarte Quintero, 24, of Diamond Bar.
