STANTON : Garden Grove Man Dies in Car Accident

A Garden Grove man was fatally injured Wednesday night when he lost control of his car and crashed into a utility pole, police said.
Daniel Ray Smith, 28, was driving south on Beach Boulevard when his car jumped a curb and toppled a flagpole before knocking over the hydrant and smashing into a utility pole at Chapman Avenue, said Sheriff’s Lt. Dan Martini.
The accident occurred shortly after 8 p.m., Martini said.
Smith was pronounced dead at West Anaheim Medical Center.
