Brazilian fans danced in the walkways outside the Rose Bowl, covering themselves with flags and singing. Jose Darci of Sao Paulo, who had brought his family, said his enjoyment of Brazil’s semifinal victory over Sweden made the expense worthwhile.

“The final will be Brazil 2, Italy 1,” he said. “We’re going to eat canneloni next Sunday.”
