Ex-Agriculture Secretary Backs Kerrey’s Senate Bid

LINCOLN, Neb. — Democrat Bob Kerrey’s bid for a second term in the U.S. Senate received a boost Tuesday from a Cabinet member of the George Bush Administration. Former Agriculture Secretary Edward R. Madigan said he was endorsing Kerrey because the senator is a strong advocate for agriculture at a time when rural representation is dwindling.
